5:00pm: Arrival of all the guests at HB Function Space (Building H, Basement, Foyer area next to HB32) Caulfield campus, Monash University
5:10-5:15pm: Opening words: Dr Mridula Nath Chakraborty, Acting Director Monash Asia Institute
5:15-5:35pm: Traditional mask-dance (topeng) performance by Dr Jonathan McIntosh, Lecturer in Ethnomusicology, Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music at Monash University
5:35-5:40pm: “Topeng” poem recital by Anton Alimin, Jembatan Bilingual Poetry Society, Melbourne
5:40-5:45pm: Monash University and the Emerging Writers’ Festival program: Professor Rita Wilson, Head of the School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics
5:45-6:00pm: Emerging Writers Festival Island to Island program in Indonesia: Andre Dao, Gillian Terzis, Sam Tyford-Moore
6:00-6:05: Welcome words by Ibu Dewi Savitri Wahab, Honourable Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Melbourne
6:05-6:10pm: Introduction to Ni Made Purnamasari, Visiting Indonesian writer at EWF, by Paul Thomas, Coordinator, Indonesian Studies and Lecturer in Translation Studies, SLLCL, Faculty of Arts, Monash University
6:10-6:35pm: Poetry recital and presentation on Australia-Indonesia cultural relations by Ni Made Puranamasari in Bahasa Indonesian.
English translations read out by Cecilia Liando and Courtney Reid, students of the Indonesian program at Monash University
6:35-6:45pm: Q&A with Ni Made Purnamasari moderated by Paul Thomas & interpreted/translated by Yacinta Kurniasih, SLLCL, Faculty of Arts, Monash University
6:45-7:30: Drinks, snacks and general merriment
